We have just release version 1.0.0.7 of Social Squared – our Enterprise Forum solution for SharePoint. This release gives you the ability to let users attach files to posts and topics. This setting can be turned on and off for each forum:

If it is turned on when a user goes to create a new topic or post, at the bottom they will see the Browse button where they can select a file. You can also upload multiple attachments for each post:

Once your forum post is created, the files you wanted to upload are displayed at the bottom of your post:
