The Lightning Conductor Web Part now has improved filtering. The latest version 3.1.0.4 now allows you to filter on columns that do not necessarily have to be displayed in the results. The filters are applied from within the configuration wizard as shown below:
Users can still filter the web part using the filter options within the column headers:
If you want to turn this option off for your users you can. This means that the user with Full Control or Design permissions to the site, can determine the filter for the web part.
