If you are well versed with the Lightning Conductor 2010 Web Part for SharePoint 2010, you will realise that when you are rolling up content from multiple site collections or multiple web applications that you can either display the content using our easy to use SPGridView or develop a custom XSL file.
We have built a forum recently allowing for anyone to submit their own XSL files for others to benefit from. Ashot and Michael from Lightning Tools have been busy creating some XSL files that you can benefit from straight away.
We have developed an XSL file which works with Picture Libraries providing you with a thumbnail view and allows the image to be opened up in a larger window:

The configuration prior to selecting the XSL file is very simple:

Another example XSL file is the Document Library XSL. This provides you with examples on how to modify the hyperlink from the Title column as well as apply sorting.
