SharePoint Evolution Conference 2013

Brett Lonsdale from Lightning Tools has been accepted to speak at next year’s SharePoint Evolutions conference in London. Brett submitted his sessions a few weeks back and has been asked to present on SharePoint 2013 Business Connectivity Services and how it has evolved from SharePoint 2010.

Combined Knowledge are the hosts of the SharePoint Evolutions conference which is held in April next year. Combined Knowledge alternate the conferences each year between three themes; “SharePoint Best Practices”, “SharePoint Evolutions” and “International SharePoint Conference”. The idea being that the SharePoint Evolutions conference is all about “What’s new”, whereas Best Practices is the focus on the subsequent year after the speakers have had more than twelve months exposure to the product.

If you haven’t attended one of these conferences before, you should definitely do so. Besides it being directly opposite famous landmarks such as West Minster Abbey and Big Ben, the conference offers some of the best speakers from the SharePoint community including the likes of Spence Harbar, Andrew Connell, and Bill English. The DVD that Combined Knowledge sends to attendees after the conference contains all of the recorded sessions, so that even if you cannot attend them all, you can still learn in your own time.

There is plenty of opportunity for networking to! Usually on the first evening there is entertainment, drinks and food served in the exhibit hall. Typically The Queen, Marilyn Monroe, David Beckham or someone of that nature happens to show up. The conference party which is usually a well-kept secret until the actual night is a party you typically don’t want to miss out on!

Lightning Tools will also be sponsoring the conference for the fifth year running as a Gold sponsor. We’ll have announcements of our own around some exciting new SharePoint 2013 releases and more than likely we’ll be giving away some signed copies of our SharePoint Business Connectivity Services books.
