Lightning Tools is pleased to announce that version 2 of the SharePoint Chart web part is now available for SharePoint 2007, 2010 and SharePoint 2013.
Improvements include:
Cross Web Application/Site Collection/Site List data sources.
Using the Chart configuration wizard, you can now select a SharePoint list as your data source even if it belongs to a different site in a different site collection or even web application. Using this feature, you can aggregate data for your chart from anywhere in the farm making dashboard even more powerful and easy to create.
Consume Connections from Other Web Parts.
Using web part connections, you can consume data from other web parts on the page including SharePoint List View web parts and soon the Lightning Conductor or Data Viewer web parts.
Improvements to the Business Data Connectivity data source options
Using Business Connectivity Services as a Data Source, you can now consume connections from external data sources via BCS. Improvements include the ability to select from the picker the LOB System rather than entering the namespace manually. This works so well with BCS Meta Man which can create External Content Types in minutes to almost any External Data Source.
Reveal Data Layer by Layer using new Drill Down options
Users can now configure multiple different types of drill down charts allowing you to show different charts when the primary chart is clicked.
Other improvements include:
– Export the configured chart to Excel (Even as a chart!)
– Automatic Updates. As your data changes, the chart will change with it without needing page refreshed.
