Getting Started with the Data Viewer Web Part

Within this tutorial, we explore how to begin using the Data Viewer Web Part within SharePoint 2016. The Data Viewer can be added to SharePoint 2013, SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint Online in the form of a SharePoint Add-In. The Data Viewer will also soon be available as a Client Side Web Part.

In this tutorial, we build a connection to a Microsoft SQL Database. We learn how to configure the authentication options, select a table, view, or stored procedure, as well as a custom query. We then build our views by selecting the columns that we want to see, and set some basic view properties such as grouping, sorting, filters, and conditional formatting.
