Ever wondered why you see users in your SharePoint Permission reports with ‘Limited Access’ when you know that the permission that they are granted is higher than that?
You can use the Check Permissions ribbon button to find out what permissions the user or group really has, but do you want to do that for hundreds of users?
The problem occurs when the user in question is granted permissions against another object within the site such as a Library, Folder or List Item and the user is granted permissions to the site via an Active Directory group.
Even if you navigate to the SharePoint group granting the user permissions, you will not see the individual listed as SharePoint does not enumerate the Active Directory groups.
With DeliverPoint SharePoint Permission reports, you can see exactly what permission the user does have, and also how the permission was granted even if it was through a nested Active Directory Group.
