We released a new version of the Lightning Storm Forums yesterday that fixed a couple of issues:
1, Anonymous Access – if SharePoint is setup to allow anonymous access both for the web application and in the SharePoint permissions, anonymous users can now view forum topics and posts. They cannot however reply or add any new posts. The ability to do this will be available in the next release and will be something you can switch on or off.
The above is something you would generally want for public facing web sites.
2, Email subscription bug fix – if you subscribed to a forum, then you subscribed to all the different groups. This is now fixed.
