Change languages used within the Forum
The display language used within the Lightning Storm Forums for words such as ‘Topics’ and ‘Post’ is pulled from .resx files that are located in:
c:program filescommon filesmicrosoft sharedweb server extensions12resources
The files that are used are:
LightningTools.Forum.en-US.resx
LightningTools.Forum.Tags.en-US.resx
where en-US is the localization code of the language pack used to create your SharePoint site.
If you want to create your own localization simply copy these two files, and rename them so that en-US is replaced with your own localization code. You can then open the files in notepad and translate the English terms to the language you wish.
Currently we have resx files for English, French, Dutch, German and Japanese out of the box. Any other languages you will need to do the steps detailed above.
