Lightning Tools Data Viewer V4 Released

The Lightning Tools Data Viewer allows you to connect easily to SharePoint Lists, Business Connectivity Services External Content Types, Microsoft SQL, Oracle, OData, XML, and ODBC data sources. Once connected you can style the data by applying data formatting the way you would like it to be displayed e.g. Short Date/Currency, and apply color formatting including conditional formatting to highlight important data.

Version 4 of the Data Viewer for SharePoint On-Premises is available to download now and contains over 50 improvements to styling, performance, connectivity to other web parts, and availability for SharePoint 2016.

Using the Lightning Tools Data Viewer, you can be displaying data from your external data sources on your SharePoint sites in just a few minutes.

SharePoint’s standard lookup column only lets you connect lists within the same site—useful, but limited. With the latest release of Lightning Forms and Forms Studio, you can now create lookup fields that pull data from external systems like SQL, JIRA, and Salesforce using Copilot Connectors. In this post, I’ll show you how we built a Helpdesk Issues form that pulls related issues directly from JIRA, and explain the difference between Lightning Forms and Forms Studio.

Lightning Tools Forms Studio is more than a form builder—it’s a complete solution builder for SharePoint and a cost-effective Power Platform alternative. Design custom forms, automate approvals and actions, package and redeploy solutions, and even migrate legacy InfoPath or Nintex forms with ease.
